A whimsical interplay between the ideal and the surreal.

Situated on a private vineyard in the heart of the Mornington Peninsula wine region, Jackalope promises an experience to remember. With a monolithic, jet-black exterior, the hotel stands in sharp contrast to the verdant rolling vines. This juxtaposition a nod to the hotel’s namesake, a mythical creature – part-jackrabbit, part-antelope – that exists only in folklore. The hotel unifies art, design, dining, and storytelling in the guest experience, creating a whimsical interplay between the ideal and the surreal. On-property, guests can enjoy immersive food and wine experiences at one of the hotel’s two restaurants, cocktail bar, pool deck, and cellar door.

HOTEL HIGHLIGHTS

  • The hotel features an international art collection by Rick Owens, Rolf Sachs and Tracey Emin, Emily Floyd, Nick van Woert, Tatsuo Miyajima, and Random International.

  • 44 designer dens with incredible vineyard views, some with Japanese deep-soak bathtubs.

  • The hotel’s stunning, 30-meter infinity pool laps up to the surrounding vines, showcasing a tranquil sightline from water to wine.

  • Mornington Peninsula (just an hour's drive from Melbourne) has long been known as Melbourne’s summer playground. Framed by two spectacular coastlines, the region offers some of Australia’s best food and wine, golf, adventure, and leisure activities.

  • Jackalope features two-hatted restaurants (Michelin Star equivalent), a cocktail bar, cellar door, poolside, and private dining options. The only hotel in Australia with two-hatted restaurants on-property.

  • Wallpaper

Doot Doot Doot could well be the hotel’s highlight: the four- or eight-course degustation menus lean heavily on Mornington Peninsula produce and are artfully prepared by chef Guy Stanaway, a former star at the luxe Aman resorts.
